Lanes Group Named Water Industry Delivery Partner of the Year

Wastewater and drainage specialist Lanes Group has been named as the water utilities Delivery Partner of the Year in the Water Industry Awards 2025.

The company was presented the prestigious award at a ceremony in Birmingham on Wednesday 24th June.

Award judges were impressed by the impressive growth of Lanes Group’s water utilities services over 18 months, plus its record on high-performance service delivery and innovation.

Ralph Powell, Lanes Group’s Regulated Water Business Development Director said: “This win is testament to the amazing work done by all our teams to deliver customer service excellence, across our 4,000 strong workforce.

“By continuously improving and deploying innovative ways of working we deliver industry-leading performance for our clients, drawing our unrivalled skills and extensive resources across the UK.

“We are proud to be trusted by our water clients to deliver their critical infrastructure work by demonstrating our agility, capacity and capabilities to respond to all service challenges.”

Lanes Group has won contracts in the last 12 months that increase its water utilities annual turnover by 60%, creating additional work, with contract extensions, worth over £1.5billion.

The company now delivers over 70% of all sewer repair and maintenance work for the water industry in England, while also delivering services for Scottish Water.

Lanes Group successfully mobilised major new contracts for Yorkshire Water and Southern Water, involving 1,000 new employees and more than 550 specialist vehicles, on the same day, 1st April.

It was the first time such an ambitious dual mobilisation – involving water companies at different ends of the country had been carried out.

The business is also determined to play a leading role in promoting diversity in the water industry, including launching a Women at Lanes network in 2024 to champion initiatives that support women across the business.
