If you're passionate about sustainability like we are, you'll want to hear about some exciting steps we're taking!
After winning the Samsara Connected Operations Award for Excellence in Driver Engagement, our team is excited to introduce the next steps for our fleets.
This article explains our progress toward a more eco-friendly future and provides more information about the award-winning technology we are using.
We recently added electric and hybrid vehicles to our fleet
This commitment to eco-friendly practices is something to celebrate!
Imagine those bright pink Mini Electrics driving around your city.
Operations Manager John Murray uses one in Glasgow, while Depot Manager Larry Begley is behind the wheel in Edinburgh.
These practical vehicles are a visible reminder of our commitment to sustainability.
Our Managing Director, Kevin Moon, has expressed our goal well: "The electric cars show our commitment to sustainable working practices." We’re excited to track their impact and plan to add more in the future.
We're also exploring options for special electric drainage vehicles, which shows our readiness to embrace innovation.
For more information on our drainage vehicles, read our article on the state-of-the-art drainage vehicles we deployed for Thames Water.
Another positive step is installing fast chargers at our depots in Glasgow and Edinburgh, building on what we have in Manchester.
These chargers support our electric fleet and show we’re planning for the future.
We are also changing our practices due to rising fuel prices. We now park larger vehicles safely overnight at worksites.
This helps teams travel in smaller vehicles, reducing fuel use and carbon emissions.
We adopted a new vehicle tracking system called Samsara. It gives real-time data that promotes safe and economical driving.
Regional Manager Stevie Fairbairn says that safe driving and sustainability go together to lower maintenance costs and help vehicles last longer.
By embracing the changes we lead, you're participating in the conversation about building a more sustainable future.
Our journey reminds us that every small step counts and collectively contributes to larger environmental goals.
